Mentorship Program

Program Overview:

CSUN PRSSA is launching a mentorship program in which students are paired up with mentors who work in public relations and communications for various industries including nonprofit, entertainment, technology, etc. The program focuses on providing members an opportunity to gain insight into industries of their interests, access to one-on-one guidance and foster professional relationships with mentors.


Mentee Guidelines:

Paying members can participate in CSUN PRSSA’s Mentorship Program where they will: 

  • Fill out a form highlighting expectations, desired area of growth, and professional experiences to identify a suitable match with a mentor 

  • Be paired with a mentor based on their industry or skills of interests for the duration of the semester 

  • Attend a workshop led by the executive board to learn best practices and  how to make the most of your partnership/pairing

  • Regularly meet with mentors virtually to practice mock interviews, portfolio and resume review, workplace insight and more career confidant work out a plan with clear tasks for achieving their goals and set up more times to have engaging conversations

Mentor Volunteer:

CSUN PRSSA is looking for professionals who are interested in guiding students, through sharing their experience working in their field, and offering advice on professional development, skills, etc. Those interested in becoming a mentor for our members can contact the Communications Director via email at prssacommunicationchair@gmail.com.
